1.About the Department
International Cooperation and Exchange Department is a functional department responsible for new partnerships and programs with overseas universities and educational organizations in the process of exchange and cooperation (inclusive of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). Its main duties are as follows:
l to make development plans and set policies for international cooperation and exchange;
l to exercise administration, to provide updated information, and to be the first point of contact for new partnership agreements on international education and academic exchanges for schools & departments and relevant sections;
l to handle affairs related to enrollment, management, safety instruction of international students;
l to undertake reviews on international cooperation and exchange programs for schools & departments and relevant sections;
l to undertake reviews on foreign-related activities of teachers and students on campus;
l to ensure that proposed partnerships align with the College’s strategic directions and relevant laws; to set standards and guidelines for them to follow in the process of student exchange, academic collaboration and cultural activities;
l to plan, coordinate and implement academic exchange activities with foreign universities and educational organizations at the college level;
l to build close connections with relevant agencies and foreign affairs departments, and fully utilize resources to facilitate the development of new partnerships and programs with institutions outside China;
l to disseminate foreign affairs policies and mandates to teachers and students, and provide assistance for relevant national security departments in major violations of these policies and relevant confidentiality regulations.
2. Organizational Structure
The International Cooperation and Exchange Development is divided into Exchange Section and General Management Section. Their main duties are as follows:
Director: playing a leading role in International Cooperation and Exchange Section; making and carrying out strategic plans; setting rules and regulations; giving sanction to new partnership agreements and programs; managing finance and personnel of the Section.
Associate Director: drafting annual work plans; presenting annual reports; building new partnerships; and coordinating inter-school exchange programs.
Exchange Section
The duties of the Section are to provide support and advice on the development of international cooperation and exchange programs; to make statistical collection and analysis; to handle affairs related to planning and application of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools; to manage finance of the Section.
General Management Section
The responsibilities of the Section are as follows: managing and carrying out international cooperation programs in all schools and departments of the College; receiving, distributing and transferring documents; archival collection; asset management; the management and maintenance of the Section’s website to promote its image in an international academic community.
